Ray Kondler, CPA
Managing Shareholder

On February 1, 2007 Raymond Kondler became the managing shareholder of Kondler, Chavez & Koch, CPA’s. He is also the managing shareholder and founder of Kondler & Associates, CPA’s, P.C. located in New Jersey. Ray has served as the managing shareholder of that firm for the past seventeen years.

Specializing in many of the same areas, Chavez and Koch, CPAs is a perfect complement to Ray’s New Jersey firm. Both firms have a strong emphasis in tax and financial planning. Ray’s New Jersey clientele consist of individuals, corporations, non-profit companies, and professional athletes.

Prior to Ray starting his own firm in 1990, he served in many different capacities. Ray is degreed and certified. He began his business experience with Arthur Andersen & Company as Auditor and was promoted to Audit Manager. He has also gained experience in the audit field as Audit Manager for ABC and Times Mirror Company which are major international media companies. As Director of Financial Reporting, Ray provided guidance at the executive level for Revlon, Inc; an international corporation furnishing consumer products to countries such as England, Spain, and Ireland.

Ray is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. In addition, Ray holds his Series 7 NASD Security License, New Jersey Insurance Licenses and is a Certified College Planning Specialist. Degreed from Seton Hall University, New Jersey, Ray continues his education through many post-secondary courses.

Community Service:

Ray has coached inline skating and ice hockey for numerous years and has developed children to play varsity sports in high school. In addition, he has supported his local community soccer club by volunteering his time and experience.

Ray makes himself available for local high school children to interview and spend time with his accounting business for project work. Acting as a mentor, he also makes himself available for college students to work in his environment. He provides guidance and real time business situations to provide work experience for young minds.

Annually, Ray creates a warm environment for Senior Citizens to ask questions by orchestrating open forums where questions and answers sessions provide seniors relief from concerns about their financial futures. Ray writes a newsletter to reinforce his lectures to the local community providing his clients updated tax change information, tax strategy and financial security information.

Ray actively supports the Sunshine Kid’s Foundation which is dedicated to the cause of childhood cancer in the Las Vegas area. This non-profit organization provides ill children a variety of programs free of charge.

Tim Koch, CPA
Director of Accounting and Auditing

During 1998, Tim became a shareholder of Chavez and Koch, CPA’s. This partnership was the result of his longtime relationship with David. Tim and David attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas together and were colleagues at a Arthur Andersen in Las Vegas.

As the director of Accounting & Auditing, Tim oversees the audit services provided to the firm’s clients and serves as an advisor to those business owners, providing them with an independent perspective to assist them in making business decisions. During his career, Tim has provided these professional services to a broad range of professionals and businesses.

A native Las Vegan, Tim received his bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting from UNLV. He started his professional career with a Big Five firm in Las Vegas, working in its audit division. During his tenure with the firm, Tim worked with the largest gaming companies in the world, both domestic and international. He also gained significant experience working with small and medium-sized companies from the retail, financial and manufacturing sectors.

Upon leaving the firm, Tim had the opportunity to work with Star Nursery, one of the largest independently owned chains of nurseries in the United States, where he served as vice president of finance. During his tenure with Star Nursery, he acquired extensive knowledge about retail business, inventory control, computer and accounting systems implementation as well as doing business throughout the southwestern part of the nation.

For the past decade, Tim has been involved in youth soccer as a coach in the Henderson area. Currently, he serves as the treasurer of the Henderson United Youth Soccer League, the largest youth soccer club in Nevada. Professionally, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Nevada Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Community Association Institute, California Society of Certified Public Accountants and serves as treasurer of the Silver State chapter of the American Backflow Prevention Association.

David Chavez, CPA
Founder

David is the founder of Chavez and Koch. A second generation Southern Nevadan and a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, David was named the Small Business Association’s Small Business Person of the Year for the city of Henderson a 2002 graduate of Leadership Henderson and was the founding president and is a current board member of the Henderson Community Foundation.

Additional community involvement includes: UNLV College of Business Alumni Association advisory board member and a member of Young Entrepreneurs Organization. He was also the former treasurer for The Salvation Army of Henderson, served as a mentor for Foothill High School’s YES Incorporated program and was founding member of the Henderson United Soccer League.

During his time at UNLV, David, led a number of committees and assisted the accounting department with national accreditation. David began his professional career with Arthur Andersen in Las Vegas working with its tax and audit practices. Upon leaving Arthur Andersen, Chavez had the opportunity to work with a distinguished family in Southern Nevada. He assisted the family with several of its financial, accounting and tax needs. In addition, he had the opportunity to review many business opportunities and helped structure new companies.

He is the past president for the Las Vegas Chapter of the Nevada Society of Certified Public Accountants and was a lead instructor for the Becker CPA Review course. Professionally, he belongs to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Nevada Society of CPA’s He is also an active member of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce, Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce and Latin Chamber of Commerce.
